My Improvement Network has partnered with Northern Ireland Screen to enhance the reminiscence content in RITA for our customers in Northern Ireland. Archive films relating to Northern Irish history, culture and society were provided by Northern Ireland Screen’s Digital Film Archive (www.digitalfilmarchive.net), and specially curated to appeal to local users. These materials will prove a valuable resource to stimulate reminiscence and stir memories. Focusing on films from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, the footage showcases beloved landmarks, activities, and events – be it the Giant’s Causeway, linen-making, or the Ould Lammas Fair – a colourful and nostalgic depiction of how generations in Northern Ireland have lived, worked, and played.

Back in December we launched the inaugural RITA awards to reward and recognise best practice use of RITA across the UK. One of the stand out nominees was Addenbrookes hospital who have used RITA effectively to help reduce incidences of falls on their wards. Read their case study here

By the end of March 2022 Wrexham Borough County Council will have rolled out RITA in to 33 of their care homes. This will be the largest roll out of RITA by a Local Authority in Wales, which is testament to the successes being reported across the borough. Here is their story so far:

The very first RITA system was purchased by Dudley Metropolitan Council back in 2018. Fast forward to 2022 and now every care home in Dudley has access to the  system. Furthermore, in 2020 the council was shortlisted for a national LGC award and in 2021 they won an iese GOLD award for project RITA!
