Wrexham County Borough Council and RITA narrowly missed out on an accolade in the 'working to the principle of strengths-based practice' category. The RITA project team received a highly commended honour at the event and were praised for the work taking place in Wrexham to put the person to the forefront of care delivery in Social Care in Wales by using RITA as a digital enabler.
In March 2021 Wrexham Council generously invested in RITA for 20 of its care homes.
8 x 24 inch mummy RITA's and 16 x 10 inch baby RITA's were distributed to the homes.
Due to the successes achieved with the first 20 homes, in 2022 Wrexham Council decided to roll out RITA to an additional 13 care homes. In this phase, a number of nursing homes were selected who look after residents who are bed bound. A version of RITA which incorporates a trolley with extendable arm and a slightly larger 13 inch tablet was deployed in to these homes.
My Improvement Network and WCBC have worked collaboratively on the project to ensure homes maximise outcomes and value.
in 2023 WCBC launched an initiative to further enhance the work taking place across the region (WAST & BCUH) by promoting the use of RITA Synergy. RITA Synergy enables care homes to export personal profiles from RITA on to RITA Synergy dongles enabling person centered continuity of care to be delivered via the pathway to hospital, during a stay on hospital and from hospital.
