Older Peoples Mental Health & Dementia Support are working with My Dementia Improvement Network to engage with patients via the My Life software.

You can view the Distraction Therapy Collection in the Equipment Loan Service catalogue.

My Life software is specifically to be used to support:

• patients with dementia
• patients with learning disabilities and  vulnerable adults

The pre-loaded system can be used to help patients, families and healthcare staff provide distraction and stimulation via the My Life software.

Reminiscence areas

music, poetry, radio shows, speeches, photos, BBC TV clips.

Activities areas

sing-a-long, whack-a-mole, painting, quiz, jigsaw, coconut shy, armchair exercises, shooting gallery, penalty kicks.

Benefits

• Helps with hand-eye co-ordination and promotes social interaction.
• Supports in stimulating conversation and distracts agitated patients.
